Offline Mode: Access to your password safe also without data connectivity

When do I need offline mode?

For example: when you are abroad and want to escape expensive data roaming charges or; you are at a nice cellar restaurant without network coverage and need to look up your bank card pin number to pay the bill.

How does it work?

Your DataInherit iPhone App will – after the first login from your phone - store an encrypted (AES256) local copy of the password safe on the handset. The iPhone app will then automatically detect whether data connectivity is available or not. If the connectivity is not available the App will offer the Offline Mode (local copy).

Can I add passwords while in Offline Mode?

No, this is not possible. The offline mode is purely "read-only" and therefore cannot be used to amend existing entries or add new passwords.

How can I test drive the Offline Mode?

Just go to the settings panel of your iPhone and switch on the airplane mode. This will deactivate all network capabilities of the iPhone. Now start datainherit and try to login again. As mentioned above, you must have logged-in prior to this at least once with your DataInherit App.
