What is data inheritance?
Data inheritance is included as an integral function in all DataInherit online safes (Password Safe, Silver/Gold Data Safe). Using this function, you can arrange to have passwords and files passed on automatically and securely to Beneficiaries among your family, partners and friends in the case of an emergency or fatality.Who are Beneficiaries and what do they receive?
You specify individuals who are to be recipients, for example people from among your circle of family, partners and friends. You allocate the various documents and passwords to these individuals. Data which you do not allocate to anyone will be securely deleted in the event of your demise.
Who activates the data inheritance?
You specify one or more persons to be authorized activators, for example your life partner or close friends. These Beneficiaries are then able to activate the data inheritance by using an activation code. You do not need a lawyer or other formalities. Improper activation is rendered impossible by the DataInherit safeguarding delay. Read more in FAQ.
How are Beneficiaries notified?
Beneficiaries receive the access codes for the files and passwords which you have allocated to them by means of a securely encrypted email or by registered mail sent to any destination worldwide by the Swiss postal service.
Is it complicated?
Data inheritance is important, and the configuration is quickly completed. We recommend that you try a simple test. Set up a free account in less than a minute and test it yourself.
